Doctor commits suicide after ‘ordering driver to park’ on third mainland bridge

It was gathered that the man, who was being driven by his driver in a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), was receiving a call when he suddenly asked his driver to park.

Mr. Orji, identified as a medical doctor, reportedly ordered his driver to pull over, dropped off his Nissan SUV auto with regstration number LND 476 EE and jumped into the lagoon.

The search for a medical doctor, simply identified as Orji, who jumped into the lagoon in Lagos State on Sunday has been intensified.

As at the time of filing this report, operatives of the Marine Police, Rapid Response Squad and officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency were still battling to see if they could rescue the victim of the accident.

Ita, who was taken to the Adeniji Adele Police station, said the deceased had told him that he wanted to ease himself.

"The General Manager of LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu, said proper investigation would be conducted on the incident by the appropriate authorities".

It was further gathered that the man was returning from the church, when he suddenly stopped on the Third Mainland Bridge and jumped into the lagoon.

The medical doctor, identified as Allwell Orji, had ordered his driver to pull over in what was a mysterious incident, while he stepped out and dove into the lagoon.

Our reporter who visited the home of the victim today said that mother of the victim was flanked by sympathizers, who constantly consoled her.
