Andrew Bogut carried off the floor with leg injury in Cavaliers debut

Just two minutes into the contest against the Miami Heat, Bogut was defending when his lower leg was clipped by Heat forward Okaro White. He was helped to the locker room but couldn't put any weight on his leg.

He appeared to tell Cavs staff on the sidelines that he believed his leg was broken.

Bam. Fractured tibia for Bogut. A Cavs.com reported said that he will undergo x-rays and have his status updated later this evening.

Due to his size, basketball IQ and past success on the Golden State Warriors over the past couple of seasons, Bogut had a number of teams interested in landing his services.

Bogut spent most of this season playing for the Dallas Mavericks.

Bogut missed the final two games of the Warriors' loss to the Cavs in June after injuring his knee.

Reports, and logic, said that Bogut would pick between title contenders based on his minutes and role. Bogut negotiated a buyout with the Sixers and after speaking with teams including the Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics, made a decision to sign with Cleveland.

The Heat had little trouble sprinting past Cleveland at home on Saturday with All-Stars LeBron James and Kyrie Irving sitting out, but that doesn't mean the victory came without controversy.

"But at the end of the day, I thought Cleveland was the best chance". The one-time National Basketball Association champion was seen as an integral addition to the Cavs back-to-back championship push, along with fellow midseason acquisitions Deron Williams, Kyle Korver and Derrick Williams. Fournier scored 11 points on him in the first six minutes, before NY went away from the attempt at a small-ball lineup. He dropped to the floor and laid of the floor in pain before a trainer arrived to treat him.
