AIADMK leader Sasikala, who is in Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara here, after being ordered to serve the sentence in the disproportionate assets case, met her nephew and two advocates on Wednesday.

But this time around, Sasikala's request for a class A accommodation was shot down by the jail authorities.

Here are interesting facts about how Sasikala spent her first night in prison and what her days ahead will be like- a stark contrast from her aspirations of usurping the TN CM throne by virtue of having been Amma's soul-sister.

VK Sasikala, whose dream for the post of Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister was cut short by the court order scored a victory even in defeat as her protege E Palaniswami is set to form government on Thursday following an invitation by Tamil Nadu Governor. However, she was allowed to choose her shared cell of 10 feet by 8 feet, with a bathroom. Apart from a fan, blanket and pillow, she had no other luxuries, although a cot was provided to her following the doctors' advice.

"She also read a couple of Tamil newspapers, had lemon rice for breakfast at 7.30 am and a frugal meal of sambar and rice for lunch at 12.30", said Pugazhendi. According to sources, she appeared upset after her request for a VIP cell was turned down. I will not sit in police jeep.

As an inmate, she has now been assigned the task of making candles. She was provided with three saris and blouses when she entered the jail. Whether she will be interested in the job remains to be seen.

While Sasikala is "kaidi number 9234", Elavarasi and VN Sudhakaran are number 9235 and 9236 respectively. Apart from occasional exchanges with Elavarasi, she hasn't spoken much either. She was convicted in DA case by Supreme court. Sasikala ignored Cyanide Mallika's neighbourly overtures on the first evening, though she did smile at her, when she tried to speak to her again the next morning.
