Morrowind Expansion Announced for The Elder Scrolls Online

Bethesda have announced The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind, the next chapter in the hugely popular and award winning The Elder Scrolls Online series.

With no subscription to pay, it's a big push by Bethesda to pull people to Elder Scrolls Online with a new kind of Morrowind game - particularly on PS4 and Xbox One where no Morrowind experience is available.

"With the same geographic footprint as The Elder Scrolls III, the island of Vvardenfell includes all key points of interest from the classic game", the announcement reads.

Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind will release on June 6, 2017 with a $59.99 price tag, but it will be $39.99 for those already in possession of Tamriel Unleashed. The new update will include a new class called The Warden and the extensive area of Vvanderfell.

The expansion introduces the first new class since the original ESO was launched: the Warden, who wields powerful nature-based magic. Expect "more than 30 hours of main story content, a new Trial, and a new three-team, 4v4v4 PvP mode". The standard pricing for the expansion (lord knows there's pricier options and pre-order bonuses galore) is $60 for new players, who will get access to both Morrowind and ESO: Tamriel Unlimited.

The fate of Morrowind hangs in the balance and you must take up the mantle of a hero to help Vivec, the legendary warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, save the world from a deadly Daedric threat.

An Armored War Horse clad with Dwarven Plate. Or there's the Digital Collector's Upgrade for $69.99/£49.99/€69.99 including all of the same DLC goodies with just the Morrowind DLC. To find out more about the game, additional special editions, and pre-order bonuses, head to the official site. You can pre-order it now on your platform of choice.

Includes The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

A steelbook case featuring the marks of the Tribunal and Vivec.
