Spooky echolocation adventure Perception is coming to PS4

In terms of gameplay and visuals, the game is very interesting as players will have to make use of the "echolocation" instead of full vision.

First announced back in 2015, Perception is the brainchild of a group of developers who worked on the first BioShock and Dead Space games. The obstacle is the supernatural force known as "the presence" present in the mansion.

Perception has no release date as of yet, but both versions of the game are set to release later this year. This latest project initially launched on Kickstarter where it raised $168k.

Perception is an atmospheric first-person horror game that tells the story of Cassie, "a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams".

The reason Cassie finds herself in the mansion on Echo Bluff is that for several months she has been suffering from nightmares. She must solve the estate's mysteries or become one of its victims. As seen in the Perception trailer, she is so anxious to figure out what's going on she decides to go ahead and enter the building without waiting for her, presumably sighted, friend. She needs to avoid detection and uses ambient sounds of the house to help her navigate or uses objects to create distractions. Every tap of the walking stick or sound creates a visualization that illuminates the world around you. But there is a cost...sound will attract your enemies and reveal your location.
