New Nokia 6 To Be Released For China Market First

Just two days before the scheduled sale of the Nokia 6, the smartphone has already raked in 1 million registrations.

The Nokia 6 sports some of the industries more premier features, such as a specially anodized aluminium body that is machined from a solid piece of 6000 series aluminium. Nokia 6 is up for pre-order in the Chinese market only on JD.com at CNY 1699 (Approx Rs 17,000).

The wait is finally over and Nokia is here with its latest device - 6 - which is all set to go on sales from January 19. Priority is given to paid reservations. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with X6 LTE modem and paired with 4GB of RAM.

Of course how many customers actually end up going through with the purchase remains to be seen, but we guess for now we can take the number of registrations as a positive sign that the Nokia brand is still strong enough to warrant this much interest despite not having a phone in the market for the past couple of years. The phone comes with 64GB of internal memory which can be expanded to 256GB using a microSD card. As expected, the smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

As for camera, the Nokia 6 features a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF along with an 8 megapixel front snapper with f/2.0 aperture for selfies or video calling. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,000mAh battery. Former Nokia staff then formed HMD Global Oy (HMD), which then purchased part of the Nokia phone business sold to Microsoft. About 24 hours after registrations went live nearly a week ago, Nokia 6 reached a milestone of 250,000 registrations, but only 100,000 phones were pre-ordered.
