McDonald's rolls out Mac Jr., Grand Mac

As for the Mac Jr., well, it's hard to imagine why anyone would want a smaller Big Mac, but hey, it's probably better than a plain old cheeseburger.

"The Big Mac is one of our most well-known menu items and a favorite for McDonald's customers all over the world", said McDonald's owner/operator Larry Thornton, who owns two McDonald's restaurants in the McDonald's of Central Alabama CO-OP.

The Mac basically a single-layer Big Mac, and McDonald's says it's "easier to eat on the go".

The sandwich is one of the company's iconic products with three patties, two buns and one of the most recognizable sauces in fast food history.

The Big Mac was first introduced in 1967 by Jim Delligatti, a McDonald's franchisee from Pennsylvania, and the following year was available nationwide. Additionally, McDonald's will eventually release a version of the sandwich that should appeal to millennials as it comes with Sriracha sauce.

Haracz told the news outlet that in both tests, the Mac Jr and Grand Mac were about equally popular.

Big Mac lovers rejoice - McDonald's announced they will soon begin selling two new sizes of the classic creation. The 860-calorie Grand Mac is about 1 1/2 times the size of a regular Big Mac. In this case, that good is the Big Mac. "There is an emotional connection to the Big Mac sandwich". "The classic combination of ingredients remains timeless and customers around the world continue to enjoy its signature taste".
