Game Boy is Coming Back From the Dead

As far as handheld consoles are concerned, or just consoles in general, it's hard to beat out the Nintendo Game Boy in terms of being a classic. Does the NES Classic Edition hit you right in the nostalgic feels? This new handheld will allow you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games.

If you've been missing the Game Boy from your childhood, you will be able to snag yourself what's essentially a slightly-souped up Game Boy from Retro Bit! Parents will also be delighted to know that the device features a scratch and shatter-resistant TFT HD display and textured side grips. The device also incorporates an extra pair of buttons on the face in order to support Game Boy Advance titles that rely upon shoulder buttons.

Clearly Nintendo is done with the Game Boy, but in case you want to relive some memories, the folks at Retro-bit have brought the device back to life in the form of the Super Retro Boy. I played through a level of F-Zero for Game Boy Advance and I learned that I am just as bad at this game today as I was years ago.

A spokesperson for Retro-Bit explained how the Super Retro Boy came about. Retro-Bit is projected to ship it in August 2017. It's created to look and feel a lot like the original Nintendo Game Boy - and pretty much nails it.

Super Retro Boy will be available in North America this summer for $80.
