Ford finally confirms return of Bronco, Ranger

At a practice run for Monday's Detroit auto show press conference attended by a USA TODAY reporter on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena, 3,000 Ford employees burst into applause when the Bronco and Ranger icons were splashed onto a digital big screen. Though we are hearing that Ford considers "all-new" (in the context of Levine's tweet) to simply mean "all new to the USA", the truck is going to be changed before coming here. The Ranger's base engine could be a reworked, higher-powered version of the 2.5L I-4 found elsewhere in Ford's USA stable, while an optional 2.7L EcoBoost V-6 could make for an entertaining mini-Raptor.

Ford is also bringing back the Ford Bronco with the 2020 model year. The Dearborn automaker will soon expand its utility and SUV lineup with the rebirths of the Bronco and Ranger. He went on to explain that the new Bronco will be a midsized SUV designed for off-road excellence and, as we knew before, the 2020 Bronco will be built alongside the new unibody Ranger at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Detroit. In response to then-Republican nominee Donald Trump's criticism of Ford plans to move jobs to Mexico, Bill Johnson, chairman of United Auto Workers (UAW) local 900, said his organization expected Ford to keep workers employed by building the two trucks in the U.S. What FoMoCo's president of The Americas actually wanted to say is that the next-generation "Ranger is for truck buyers who want an affordable, functional, rugged, and maneuverable pickup that's Built Ford Tough". Ford expects EV offerings will outnumber the amount of gas-powered cars for sale in 15 years. The Wrangler's sales mix is roughly two thirds four-door, and more doors means Ford can charge a higher price. The Bronco nameplate was introduced back in 1966 but was killed off in 1996. "It's capable of conquering everything from your daily commute to gravel roads and boulders".

The 2019 Ranger will be based heavily on the global Ranger now available in global markets, though the company confirmed it would receive a significant front-end restyling to suit American tastes. Both vehicles will be made at the company's Michigan Assembly Plant.
