LeBron James honors bet with Dwyane Wade, wears Chicago Cubs uniform

Time Inc.'s (NYSE: TIME) Sports Illustrated has announced that Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James is the 2016 Sportsperson of the Year. LeBron James learned this lesson the hard way as he made a friendly wager with Chicago-native Dwyane Wade about the victor of the 2016 MLB Wold Series. The Cavs are playing the Bulls in Chicago on Friday, so it was time for James to pay up.

Reigning champions the Cavaliers boast a 13-4 win-loss record in the Eastern Conference follow back-to-back defeats, while the Bulls are 10-7. LeBron James and Kevin Love each added 16.

Asked by ESPN.com what sartorial splendor he had in mind, James said "hat down to the trousers, the socks". "I'm not wearing cleats". I enjoyed the All-Star Games, I enjoyed the Olympics, but I never thought that we'd play together. I've got a basketball game to play. They were listening. Like road-weary truck drivers, the Clippers had been stuck on the boring two-lane highways that led to games with the Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and the Brooklyn Nets. "Let's not forget the socks", Wade said in the video. I just enjoy it more.

The late addition of Michael Carter-Williams, who came in exchange of Tony Snell, did not bring more of a long-distance threat (25.6 percent in career). "We may send him down to Windy City for practice and then get him back shortly thereafter".

He and Wade, obviously, are close from their days as teammates with the Heat and thus a friendly wager was made prior to the Series. "That's not saying that at all, but also I understand how this league works, how this thing goes, and people need to know just don't say never, that's all". "And you never know what happens in this game".

"That was a weird game, especially in that first half and that second quarter, the whistle was blowing so much", he told reporters.
