In normal times-and these are not normal times-it would have been impossible for a candidate outputting Donald Trump's chamber of spoken and personal horrors to win.

Overall, the United States and the global economy are entering a period of uncertainty.

The 2016 election proved and confirmed that there are leaders in both parties working to misrepresent taxpayers. And so many more. I will harness the creative talents of our people and we will call upon the best and brightest to leverage their tremendous talent for the benefit of all.

Although there are deep divides within this country, there is an important point to remember: We are all Americans.

Charlotte has been growing fast as a financial hub that attracts college educated talent from around the country, and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton did better there than Obama did in 2012, handily beating Trump by 137,000 votes. It's been an wonderful two-year period.

If the USA system of checks and balances offers safeguards against the wilder excesses of Trumpism in power, it is also worth bearing in mind something else. But one thing is certain.

While the above threats diminished with a win by Donald Trump, we suspect that the market is sensing opportunities in a Trump Presidency.
