Two Dead, Four Injured in Shooting at Louisville Park

TWO people have been killed and four wounded after at shooting at a Thanksgiving American football tournament in Louisville, Kentucky.

Field is clear now from the Juice Bowl, but @LMPD says so many more could've been hurt since Shawnee Park was packed earlier. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene, according to Dwight. The four survivors suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Mitchell added.

"When you have a tragedy like this take place, certainly it puts a damper on anyone celebrating [the Thanksgiving holiday]", Mitchell said.

The shooting, shortly before 2 p.m., happened during what locals know as the annual Juice Bowl, which fills Shawnee Park with children and parents for a series of holiday football games, CNN affiliate WAVE reported.

Louisville Mayor Fischer tweeted his thoughts following the horrific shooting.

To have people with guns so disrespect life, Shawnee Park, and neighborhood tradition is sad and has no place in our city.

Youth games had just ended and two women's teams were in the middle of a flag football game when the shots were fired. The men's games scheduled for the afternoon were cancelled. The identities of the six people involved have not been released.

A spokesperson with the Mayor's Office said Mayor Greg Fischer was at the Juice Bowl when the shooting happened.
