Mou's sending off shows passion - Jones

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was sent off during his side's draw against West Ham

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has backed Jose Mourinho after the manager was sent off during a 1-1 draw with West Ham at the weekend.

The United boss was dismissed by referee Jon Moss for reacting angrily and kicking a water bottle after Paul Pogba was booked for diving during Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw at Old Trafford.

Faria said: "I think everyone saw his frustration was shown in a situation where it should have been a free-kick for us, but it finished with a yellow card to Paul". "I like to see that from anyone - players, staff - it's passion for the game and a willingness to win".

"We just need to keep creating the chances and eventually we are going to hit someone like we did against Feyenoord (4-0 in the Europa League) the other night".

Keown feels the Portuguese's behaviour is unbecoming of a club like Manchester United and says the manager's reaction to the booking will not sit well with the board.

His latest controversy will be reviewed after the Football Association receives referee Jonathan Moss' report, and further disciplinary action could follow. We created chances that in a normal way should be goals and the game should be won in a comfortable way.

Replays of the Pogba incident, which occurred as Mark Noble attempted to tackle the Frenchman midway through the first half, did not necessarily support United's viewpoint.

That United did not win was due largely to the brilliance of West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph, who produced superb saves from Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and twice blocked from Ibrahimovic. We probably could have killed the game off before half-time.

"Man United fans were disappointed past year with the style of play but the results were better".

"I don't know what happened on the sideline, but players still have to do the job on the pitch and unfortunately we couldn't get the win".

Sakho has only been back for two games after missing the entirety of the season beforehand thanks to a chronic back injury and is now set to miss the rematch with United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday at Old Trafford.
