Giants may finally have a home-field advantage

The Giants and Odell Beckham Jr. did just enough to earn their fifth win Sunday

Philly converted just three of 13 third downs against the Giants. So at the same time we're trying to build this thing and we're trying to do it right.

Eli Manning threw for four touchdowns, but the Giants (5-3) needed some key plays by the defense after Manning was picked twice in the fourth quarter. Pederson needs to learn when to be aggressive and when to take the points, Late in the 4th quarter the Eagles were down by a score and Pederson made the decision to go for it on 4th and 9, It was successful.

"That same sense of urgency that you have to have at the end of the game, we have to come out with that", Matthews said. "We had a good play, everybody did the right thing and you have to give credit to them, their defensive line getting a hand up and getting a piece of the ball".

The Eagles don't play their NFC East rivals again until three out of the final four weeks of the season.

"We balanced up the touches there a little bit", McAdoo said.

It's also what the Eagles (4-4) aren't doing. They won for the fourth time in five games following an 0-3 start and eighth in the last 10 regular-season meetings with San Francisco.

Kaepernick also threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Vance McDonald just before halftime, when New Orleans led 31-20.

Stop us if you've heard this one before. "I know that's one thing we've all got to emphasize, but we've got to find a way to finish in the red zone". (26-yard pass from Manning) and Roger Lewis Jr.

Eagles Kicker Caleb Sturgis got the Birds on the board with a 34-yard field goal, 14-3. He was slapped with the "diva" label as his personality quickly turned into a negative, not only by the NY media, but by Giants quarterback Eli Manning as well. "We've been better about not turning the ball over, obviously those two, they're turnovers, they happen, it's unfortunate". Manning had four touchdown passes in this one, but he almost cost his team a victory with a poor fourth-quarter decision. "We believe we're going to win the game in the end".

Yes, you are forgiven if you thought this game didn't need to have one of those aforementioned "tough situations" given how it started.

The Eagles and Giants exchanged third-quarter touchdowns.

The Eagles, of course, were playing from behind for almost the entirety of Sunday's game. Safeties Landon Collins and Andrew Adams each intercepted Wentz passes to set up the Giants' first two touchdowns.

"There is a fine line between being insane, borderline crazy and doing the right thing", Pederson said after the game. Those types of mistakes have been the theme of Bortles season, and with yet another wasted chance to turn around his third year in the league, it's hard not to talk about the former UCF quarterback as a player who is on the route to bust status. Neither returned. Eagles safety Terrence Brooks left with a hamstring issue.

The offense had the ball with an opportunity to drive for the winning score in each of the four losses, but Wentz couldn't get it done.

It was first and 10 from the 17 just a few seconds later, when Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo dialed up the pressure. Wentz threw incomplete three straight times on short passes, and then missed Jordan Matthews in the end zone on fourth down. When Wentz is afforded the time, his deep throws are effortless, but the receiving core may have more to do with why it's not often used.

The bright spot was the play of rookie Paul Perkins, who had 32 yards on 11 carries. Manning had to other two rushes for minus-4.

Former lead back Ryan Mathews, meanwhile, has only ran the ball nine times.

The feeling here is Pederson didn't make the wrong decision to be aggressive in those situations. But unlike with his predecessors, the NY defense was strong enough to give Wentz a baptism by fire at MetLife Stadium. One of his tackles was for a loss.
