'Game of Thrones' actress Emilia Clarke has joined the Han Solo movie

Emilia Clarke

With Alden Erhrenreich and Donald Glover cast as Han Solo and Lando Calrissian respectively, word now comes from StarWars.com itself that Emilia Clarke is joining the cast of the as of yet untitled Solo film. So what character Emilia Clarke will be able to play in Han Solo?

"Star Wars" is a growing brand with the upcoming "Han Solo" movie, and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" further expanding the popular franchise. This will be Clarke's biggest franchise yet, even bigger than the "Terminator" series, and likely her next big role following the end of "Game of Thrones" since it only has two seasons left. Yes, that's literally all the information there is on that.

Sadly, the Star Wars site gives zero clues as to what her role will be in the spinoff. The seventh season will have shorter episode counts compared to the previous ones, so Clarke's involvement in the latest season will not affect her shooting schedule with the Han Solo movie. And of course they're going to show us Han Solo meeting Chewbacca for the very first time. This certainly means that there are plenty of other new characters that will be introduced in the yet-untitled film. According to The Sun, the film is set for release to US audiences on May 25, 2018. So, Clarke's new project will surely not affect Game of Thrones.

There isn't any news of who she'll play yet, but at this stage, I can lazily speculate that it maybe Princess Leia? The second group consists of Kiersey Clemons, star of "Dope", Jessica Henwick, Clarke's "Thrones" co-star, actress Adriana Arjona, from "Emerald City", and Emilia Clarke, who won the part.
