Top 5 Late Night Jokes About Vice Presidential Debate

Hillary Clinton

After all, this year's rollicking presidential campaign has been all about the passionate emotions - positive and negative - that both candidates of the top of the ticket stir up for many American voters.

Tuesday night's vice presidential debate at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, roughly an hour from Kaine's home in Richmond, was the first time the two candidates had ever met in person. But I'll leave that to others.

Historically, 14 vice presidents have become United States presidents, and eight times that happened because the sitting president died.

"We totally disagree", Conway told "GMA" this morning.

While Hillary Clinton is soaring among these voters at a critical moment in the campaign, Trump is beginning to slide.

"They say Donald Trump loves Putin".

Pence and Trump took their victory lap through three battleground states Wednesday, with Trump praising both his running mate and himself.

Despite his efforts to underscore his small town IN raising, Pence came off as arrogant and dodgy.

DAVID MUIR: We turn next here to the race for the White House, and perhaps you were one of the millions watching that fiery vice presidential debate overnight. But that assessment was based on Pence's style, his ability to keep his cool, and to refrain from giving Kaine an equal measure of aggressiveness in response to the senator's repeated interruptions. She's very used to the format.

Kellyanne Conway, Trump's campaign manager, argued on several television programs that Pence, the governor of IN, had vindicated the man at the top of the Republican ticket during his Tuesday night clash with Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia.

And the thing is, they weren't often arguing about policy.

A Monmouth University poll released Wednesday showed Clinton with a 2-point edge over Trump in OH, where he had been running strong; Monmouth surveys this week have also shown Clinton leading by double digits in Colorado and Pennsylvania.

Watching this debate was painful.

Even Clinton's team wasn't claiming that Kaine had come out on top. Because Kaine. Would. Not.

"He's getting tremendous reviews from me and everybody", Trump told a group of pastors and leaders gathered at a Christian academy in Las Vegas. "Nothing was going in the net". Perhaps former President Bill Clinton most concisely summed up Democrats' takeaway when he said his wife's running mate "did just fine". Ted Cruz, R-Texas, over him. Governor Pence was absolutely correct when he said those are just Washington words. "Pence might want to check them out sometime".

The real estate mogul and NY billionaire went even further, saying, "I'd argue that Mike had the single most decisive victory in the history of vice presidential debates..."
