Roethlisberger's 3 TDs lead Steelers over Bengals

The Bengals are looking up at the standings, something they haven't had to do for two years.

But in the first two weeks of the season, the Bengals have not consistently been able to run it.

During pregame week before last Sunday's AFC divisional matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals both squads were nearly as quiet as a kid in the corner serving a "timeout".

Nearly immediately after their 2015 season had ended with a loss in the playoffs to the Broncos in Denver, the Steelers started focusing on the importance of being home during the playoffs.

Who said tight end was going to be the lone weakness on one of the NFL's best offenses? Williams' dirty secret was revealed during an interview after the Steelers 24-16 victory over the Bengals.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will now travel east to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, September 25 at 4:25 p.m. It's just that Bell is probably better.

Despite the fumble, the Bengals have been encouraged by Boyd's play so far.

The Titans (1-1) ended a five-game losing streak, dating to last December, when Mariota threw two TD passes in the fourth quarter after trailing 15-3.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin called it "a necessary victory" for his team, but hardly attractive.

After another field goal put the Steelers up 10-3, Boyd came up with another third-down conversion late in the first half. "We thought we were going to get it, but I guess it wasn't enough".

This one left them playing catch-up, something they haven't had to do. Those are the type of abilities that he has, and he displays them consistently.

The New York Jets sunk the Buffalo Bills 37-31, while the Indianapolis Colts are 0-2 for the third year in a row after a 34-20 defeat to the Denver Broncos. He dropped a bomb on them. The more he touches it, the more chances he has to change the game. Green is that type of player.

He's also made an impact in the passing game. A flag there would have given the Steelers a game-clinching first down. The defensive plan was working nicely, with Ross Cockrell assigned to Green all over the field all the while knowing he would have help designed into every situation. We know we're going to defend lights out as long as we have blades of grass.

If that first down had been awarded, perhaps the game wouldn't have come down to the most puzzling call: With Pittsburgh protecting an 8-point lead and the Bengals at the Steelers' 39 with 1:50 left, quarterback Andy Dalton completed a short throw over the middle to rookie receiver Tyler Boyd, who happens to be a Western Pennsylvania native and a former Pitt Panther.

The Steelers offense wasn't electric by any means, but it was more efficient than Cincinnati's.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals stuck to football this time.

The highest-scoring fantasy football player from the Steelers/Bengals game (according to standard fantasy scoring at NFL.com) was running back DeAngelo Williams, who finished with 22.80 points off of 132 offensive yards and a touchdown.

There were many that were wondering aloud how the Steelers would respond to one of their fellow "blood thirsty" AFC North Divisional opponents after slapping the Washington Redskins around in their 2016 season opener as if they were "Indians" with the majority of their scenes cut from a bad episode of the retro television series "The Lone Ranger".

The Steelers will face better quarterbacks than Kirk Cousins and Dalton.
