Teddy Bridgewater Suffers Serious, Non-Contact Injury During Vikings Practice

Head coach Mike Zimmer said the team did not have updates on the injury at a post-practice press conference Tuesday, but said "it doesn't look good right now".

If the injury to Bridgewater is as serious as believed, the Eagles will not have to face him in their Week 7 matchup against the Vikings, which obviously benefits the Eagles.

The Vikings canceled practice, and Bridgewater was picked up in an ambulance.

"I have confidence in Shaun", Zimmer said.

Teddy Bridgewater's knee injury is the big story on Tuesday, and during a press conference this afternoon Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer updated everyone on what the team now knows.

Sorensen was signed by Minnesota on August 20 while starter Teddy Bridgewater and backup Shaun Hill sat out practice with respective injuries.

"We're not going to stick our heads in the sand, tuck our tail between our legs", Zimmer said. Zimmer said that the team has not gotten all the details at this time, and the extent of the injury is unknown.

The Minnesota Vikings were hoping that this would be their year.

The injury announcement came about two hours after an emotional scene unfolded at Vikings practice when Bridgewater went down with a non-contact injury that ended the session after just 30 minutes. But he also tried to steer the team's focus back to the field as the players prepare for their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night and the season opener at Tennessee on September 11. "We're going to go out and fight like we always do". "Everybody can count us out if they want, but I think that'd be the wrong thing to do". Undrafted rookie Joel Stave from Wisconsin is the only other quarterback now on the roster.

Entering his third year as a starter, Bridgewater was expected to taken on an even bigger role in the Vikings' offense this season. "Everybody loves him. Today they were disappointed".

Bridgewater missed the second preseason game with a sore shoulder, but was sharp Sunday against San Diego.

"After undergoing an MRI, it was determined that Teddy suffered a complete tear to his ACL and other structural damage", the statement read.
