Sports digest: Tim Tebow is ready to give baseball a shot

On his Twitter account, Fox Sports baseball report Ken Rosenthal released a statement from Brodie Van Wagenen, co-head of the baseball arm of CAA, the agency that represents Tebow.

It has been over a decade since Tebow has played baseball full time. As an agent, I have a genuine respect for how hard it is to succeed at the game of baseball and a true admiration for those who possess the talent to play it at the Major League level.

Tebow was an All-State baseball player in Florida in 2005 and hit.494 as a junior, helping Nease High reach the final four of the Florida state playoffs.

"I spent time with Tim Tebow in the cages", Sheffield wrote, "he's a NATURAL". He has not played in the National Football League since 2012 with the New York Jets. He was most recently released in training camp by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2015. He will hold a workout for Major League Baseball teams this month, his agents told ESPN and other news outlets.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs Professional Baseball Organization officially announce they have invited Tim Tebow to join the active roster beginning as early as today, August 9. According to sources who have seen Tebow play, he is improving dramatically. "I'm sure he'll have success in that field", Decker said.

Tebow will never play in an MLB game, but don't be surprised if he plays for a minor league team somewhere because he is going to sell tickets.

It came from the Schaumburg Boomers, an independent Frontier League team based in Schaumburg, Illinois.

"We're looking for an athletic outfielder who can bring some leadership and competitiveness into the clubhouse", Boomers manager Jamie Bennett said in a statement Tuesday on the team's website.

The Fort Myers Miracle, a Class A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, quickly planned a "What Would Tim Tebow Do?" night on Thursday.

"Are you insinuating we need a Hail Mary at this point?" he said.
