Ledecky and US team win gold in 4x200m relay

Members of teams from both sports have published on their Instagram accounts photos to express each other support during the Olympics at Rio.

Most of the attention Thursday will be on Michael Phelps, who complained that his fifth Olympics is the most painful yet.

Katie Ledecky developed the "gallop" in her stroke with former coach Yuri Suguiyama. She became the first American judoka to ever win Olympic gold four years ago and now is looking to repeat. "Yeah, it's very popular, people ask for it", says Christopher Miller an Acupuncturist at the Asula Wellness Center in Portland, Oregon. But Barcelona had blown that plan apart.

The best use for cupping, Rummage said, is for "anything that's painful, inflammation, muscle tension, bruising". There wasn't a shot in hell I was losing that race.

They'll race against each other for the final time in the 200-meter individual medley, ending a 13-year rivalry that has been one of the greatest in swimming history.

The only question left: What is on Phelps' pre-swim jams playlist?

"You know", Gemmell said. But according to WebMD, a 2012 study published in the journal PLoS ONE suggests that cupping therapy may have more than a placebo effect. Lochte, the world record-holder at 1:54.00, has won every world championships 200 IM since 2009.

Gemmell doesn't remember whether it was he or Ledecky who first brought up a 3:56 back in 2013, but either way, it was downright preposterous.

Franklin earned a gold medal as part of the 4x200 freestyle relay in Rio after swimming in the preliminaries.

But Ledecky implied the notion had come from Gemmell.

"I love racing him, honestly", Phelps said on Wednesday night.

"It would be great to have gold", said Adrian, who barely advanced out of the preliminaries but almost pulled off the first back-to-back titles in the 100 since Pieter van den Hoogenband in 2000 and 2004.

"The idea was, what's the man-on-the-moon goal?"

Experts say the Baltimore-based firm will garner more brand awareness from the Olympics - not just from their athletes, but also their Rio de Janeiro activations and fitness plays. The 31-year-old has said this is possibly his last Olympic Game, so he wants to give fans a grand finale.

Smith now has two Olympic Medals, after winning the bronze in the 400 meter freestyle finals on Sunday.

USA gymnast Simone Biles.

The biggest event of the day likely comes in gymnastics, where 24 athletes will compete in the women's individual all-around final.

Still coming for the 19-year-old is the defence of the 800m freestyle gold she won in London.

The next closest competitor to Ledecky in Thursday's prelims was Hungary's Boglarka Kapas, who was 6.57 seconds behind, followed by British swimmer Jazz Carlin at 6.81 seconds behind. "I figured that was the best thing to do - just end my life".

And whatever that number was, she won't reveal it, if she does at all, until the race is over and the target is reached. She began the leg nearly a full second behind Australia but made it up and then some to win by 1.84 seconds, powering to the fastest split of the field by.9.
