India does not play for rankings:Virat Kohli

India will play two T20 internationals against West Indies in Florida on August 27th and 28th. The Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, close to 50kms north of Miami, is the only ICC certified ODI standard stadium facility in the U.S. and hosted six Caribbean Premier League matches last month. "That's why we have won quite a few matches in the last 15 months". But lack of action forced India to relinquish top spot in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings to Pakistan, less than a week after taking over the position from Australia.

MS Dhoni, India's limited-overs captain, believes his break from worldwide cricket has given him ample time to work on his fitness.

Cricket will enter into unchartered territory to reach out to the untapped American market when the sport's most followed practitioners, India lock horns with the West Indies in their first worldwide T20 game here Saturday. The organizers will also hope these two fixtures appeal to both the south Asian and Caribbean community in the region.

"It's good to have all the senior guys back and they make things easy for me because it's a case of them doing all the work and they know this format inside out", Simmons noted on Thursday (August 25) in Lauderhill.

Aug.26: Emphasizing the need for adjustment according to different conditions, Indian head coach Anil Kumble has admitted that his side are focusing on changing their mindset from the Test mode to the shortest format of the game ahead of the two-match T20 series against West Indies.

Apart from Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah is the only other player to join the Indian T20 squad, while the rest of the 12 members are the ones who recently featured in the four-Test series in the West Indies.

The Indian captain is also excited to get to know more about Kumble, the coach.

"Too many young players are jumping the gun and not wanting to play Test matches because of the attraction of T20 cricket", Richards said. "I'm sure we will be entertaining them this weekend and meet their expectations". However, the playing area looks flawless.

Terming the upcoming match as a "new beginning" for cricket in the US, the former cricketer said he didn't expect that much facilities in the stadium.

The Central Broward Regional Park has previously hosted four T20Is - in 2010, New Zealand played two matches against Sri Lanka, and returned in 2012 for two games against West Indies.

Carlos Brathwaite will captain the West Indies. The team Captain Misbah-ul-Haq has said that the No.1 Test rank feels like a World Cup win. "In terms of the quality that we are going to encounter, we are aware of that".

"If we drift from this plan, and drift into our individual preparations, then the plan gets disturbed".
