Five people killed in Alabama, suspect in custody

Five people have been killed in rural Citronelle, Alabama, and a suspect was arrested across the border in MS, police said on Saturday. Inside that home, according to our news partners at AL.com a 4-month-old baby was found alive.

Alabama Media Group also said that one of the five people killed was believed to be a pregnant woman and that the bodies were discovered in a home.

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WIAT) - The Mobile County Sheriff's Office and Mobile County District Attorney are all on the scene at a home where five people were found dead Saturday. Burch said that multiple weapons were used in the attack and that the crime scene might take days to process.

Update (10:41pm): WKRG is now reporting that the Mobile County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect as Derrick Dearman.

A witness to the killings was being interviewed by police in the nearby town of Citronelle, according to WALA-TV.

Burch said he was unsure when the killings took place or if they are all of the same family. A suspect has been apprehended in Greene County, Miss.
