The Wrangler Unlimited sports minimalistic design with the front facia featuring round headlamps along with the signature Jeep grille and a sturdy front bumper. Jeep India is also working to assemble the products at the plant of its parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which is in Ranjangaon, near Pune. All in all, Jeep's entry into India is much welcome but they should ensure a robust dealership and after-sales network if they intend to make a mark in the luxury SUV segment in India.

The auto is in the price range between Rs 93.64 lakhs and Rs 1.12 crores. The Grand Cherokee Limited is priced at Rs 93.4 lakh while the Grand Cherokee Summit will set you back by Rs 1.03.

Jeep Wrangler Unlimited comes with 2.8-litre tank, 4-cylinder diesel, 5-speed automatic, 200PS/460Nm | and a mileage 12.1kmpl. On the insides, it offers McKinley leather seats, lockable center console and a 6.5-inch Unconnected touch screen infotainment system. The Limited and Summit variants are powered by a 3-litre V6 diesel engine with the full-fat SRT performance version with a Hemi V8 motor.

All the Grand Cherokee variants come equipped with Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system, along with SelecTerrain traction control system. It has come with big wheels and is great for off-roading.

The Mumbai outlet will open in October, along with a second outlet in New Delhi, both before Diwali, followed by Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi and Bengaluru, Flynn said.

Jeep has finally launched the all new Grand Cherokee in India with a whopping Rs 93.64 lakh ex-showroom price. This new SUV, now known as the Jeep C-SUV will likely get the "Jeep Compass" moniker.

Jeep has invested $280 million (Rs 1,862 crore approximately) in India and plans to widen its market here in the next few years. Power is expected to be between 107hp and 122hp from a 1.5-litre Fiat Multijet diesel engine (a downsized version the worldwide 1.6-litre engine) for the 2WD model.
