Apple's iOS 10 Lets Users Uninstall Some Pre-Loaded Apps

It was show and tell day for Apple, as the company previewed the latest wrinkles in iOS 10 for developers attending the annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco.

Apple unveiled iOS 10 at yesterday's WWDC event, and it's calling it the "biggest iOS update ever."

Siri is also being given the ability to interact with non-Apple apps, including Pinterest, Uber and WhatsApp.

The iOS 10 will now let iPhone and iPad owners have more control over the apps installed on their iOS devices.

3D Touch on Lock Screen will allow you to open and interact with apps via notifications without having to actually open the app in question.

Over the week-long conference, Apple is also expected to reveal changes to its App Store, as well as to the iCloud platform.

The updates keep on rolling for Apple with enhancements made to Photos that will help users to better organise their collections by automatically organising by person, this is possible through the use of facial recognition.

Apple has redesigned its News app with sleeker interface and a number of new features.

The new iOS version will be available this autumn, but if you just can't wait until then, Apple will have a public beta test of the software out this July. The app will also group photos based on trips, people, and activities, in what Apple calls "Memories". This means you'll be able to select Apple Pay as a payment method when shopping online, authenticating payments by using a nearby iPhone or Apple Watch.

Updated products aside, Apple was expected to demonstrate a new attitude to improve its relationships with developers, customers, and partners. Just like on your iPhone and iPad, you can now use Siri to complete many tasks and there are new integrations. In the new operating system, a Universal Clipboard (UC) has been added. The operating system contains several enhancements for Siri, QuickType keyboard, Maps, Photos, Apple Music, News app and more. WatchOS 3 includes an activity sharing feature that allows you see how much exercise your "Activity Friends" have been doing. For example, the availability of Siri on the desktop is reminiscent of Cortana on Windows 10.
