Rivals now target Rubio; Trump calls for an Iowa do-over

Then came the demand: "Based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified".

Meanwhile, the race moves to New Hampshire, where Trump leads and Cruz is in second place in many polls.

"This has been hard to race to poll and I know you guys are just obsessed with polls".

For Republican voters who say they are leaning toward a GOP candidate, 11 percent say they might change their mind. The Texas Senator won the first battle in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, winning the Iowa caucus with a comfortable 3 per cent lead over the favourite, Donald Trump.

Mr Trump tweeted: "The Voter Violation certificate gave poor marks to the unsuspecting voter (grade of F) and told them to clear it up by voting for Cruz".

His tally - just above 24 percent, for second place after Cruz and just ahead of Sen.

Both candidates did poorly in Monday's Iowa caucuses, which were dominated by Cruz's defeat of Trump.

Florida Senator Marco Rubio, who placed third among the Republicans in Iowa, said he will try to persuade some of Rand Paul's supporters to redirect their support to him, despite the stark differences the two have on foreign policy. Dr Carson said afterward he was only taking a break from campaigning, but that Mr Cruz's team had misled voters into believing he was dropping out, and thus unfairly impacted the results of the election.

"Sen. Ted Cruz was spot on when he once noted that 'millions of Americans are asking for accountability and truth, '" Palin wrote. "The fact that I went out of the last one had to do with a memo that was sent out by Fox that was a little bit taunting and I said it was inappropriate".

"My girls are 5 and 7, and I gotta tell you, Caroline and Catherine are better-behaved than a presidential candidate", Cruz said campaigning in New Hampshire.

Trump latched onto it as a reason to invalidate Cruz's victory over him in Iowa.

In another tweet, Cruz suggested Trump join the Democrat Party if he's going to contest the Iowa Caucus vote.

Trump's Twitter reaction to his Iowa showing strayed significantly from his public comments on several morning TV shows Wednesday and at a rally on Tuesday night. "I'm really honored. And I want to congratulate Ted, and I want to congratulate all of the incredible candidates, including Mike Huckabee, who has become a really good friend of mine".
